3D Scanning

Capture your buildings down to the millimeter.

Laser scanning produces the most precise record of a building's physical condition available today. SSI deploys this technology as part of a measured approach to building documentation, connecting scan data to the financial and operational outcomes that matter to your portfolio.

Process

Three steps. One precise record.

01

Scan

Our field teams deploy Leica and FARO laser scanners to capture millions of measurement points per second. Every surface, angle, and detail recorded.

02

Register

Individual scans are aligned and merged into a unified point cloud. A precise, three-dimensional record of the building as it exists today.

03

Model

From the registered point cloud, we produce deliverables tailored to your project: 3D models, CAD drawings, BIM-ready Revit files, or raw point cloud data.

The Technology

Millions of points. One clear picture.

A laser scanner emits pulses of light that bounce off every surface and return to the sensor. Each pulse becomes a coordinate in three-dimensional space. In minutes, the scanner captures millions of these points, producing a dense, precise digital replica of the physical environment.

SSI uses Leica and FARO scanners, the industry standard for accuracy and reliability. The raw data feeds into everything from as-built drawings and BIM models to RSF verification. Scanning is not the end product. It is the foundation.

Point Cloud Data

Raw .RCP/.E57 files for Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other platforms

3D Mesh Models

Textured surface models for visualization and virtual walkthroughs

CAD Drawings

2D floor plans and sections extracted from the point cloud

BIM Models

Revit models built from scan data at your required level of detail
